Structural Insulated Panels
Structural Insulated Panels have changed the way we build. Our durable, heavily insulated panels add sustainability, energy efficiency, comfort, and more, all the while, speeding up the building process.
SIPs are one of the most environmentally responsible building systems available. A SIP building envelope provides continuous insulation, is extremely airtight, allows for better control over indoor air quality, reduces construction waste, and helps save natural resources. Life cycle analysis has shown that SIP homes have a tremendous positive environmental impact by reducing energy use and greenhouse gas emissions throughout the home’s life cycle. SIP designs can save 45% more CO2 with a 5.1 year energy payback and a 3.8 year greenhouse gas payback compared to stick framing examples.
The Insulated layering of SIP's creates a comfortable space in all temperatures and environments. With little to no air gap, climate changes and incidentally, high frequency noises can stay outside where they belong. Allowing for a calm, cozy and comfortable environment. Until the baby wakes.
Homeowners that incorporate other energy-efficient features into a SIP home can see utility savings of 50 percent or more. R-values for Structural Insulated Panels are unbeatable across the board.
30% More Efficient
CA Energy Code is not getting easier! In fact in 2023, there are even more stringent guidelines coming. And yet housing is becoming increasingly unaffordable in this state. Enter SIPs. They are so tight and efficient that the building qualifies for many energy efficient certifications. You will notice as soon as you walk in - they are cool in the summer, and warm in the winter, and the noise from outside is non-existent. These are SIPs and we are the only factory using them on our housing.
A SIP is quite simply a sandwich of Oriented-Strand board sandwiched to a large piece of solid Styrofoam. All of these products are sourced from unused raw materials. For example with stick frame lumber it must be straight and long, the left over wood is glued together to make OSB.
Labor Reduction = Cost Savings
In a factory-setting, were everything is patterned, the time savings we achieve using panels instead of individual sticks is tremendous. This actually allows us to create more jobs and more housing. The faster we go, the more we build.
SIPS allow us to flex our factory modules on site. Need a bigger house, a bigger great room or a garage we can modify our designs to include more panels in-between our factory modules to customize your home.
